Mr Agrawal is an outstanding consultant. He has fantastic bedside manner, taking time to speak to you as an individual. He treats his patients as humans and has a genuine interest in our well being, both physical and mental. He removed my breast cancer and his surgical skills left me with an excellent aesthetic result, whilst at the same time removing all the cancer with clear margins. This was followed up with excellent monitoring and surveillance, giving me the confidence to move on with my life post cancer. I highly recommend Avi Agrawal.

Mr Agrawal treated me like an equal, discussing all aspects of my care and treatment. He listened to how I felt and at all times I felt like I was in charge of the decisions. This was so important to me from a psychological point of view. His communication skills are excellent and he gave me all the facts honestly but in a compassionate way. His surgical skills are superb and I am very happy with the way I look after my mastectomy and breast implant. The follow up has also been excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr Agrawal to anyone considering breast surgery.

Mr Agrawal is a caring and talented doctor. He has a relaxed and friendly manner which puts you at ease. I was really pleased with the successful surgery he performed, removing all my cancer first time round and with minimal scarring. I am really pleased with the follow up care I receive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
Profile
As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.
I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.
I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.
In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
